DIY Solar powered USB charger for phone ipod blackberry iphone etc
This is a DIY solar powered USB charger with schematic that you can build to charge your ipod, blackberry, iphone, camera, or any other electronic device that you can plug into a USB port.
There are 2 (in quantity) 5 volt solar panels connected in parallel to a 12,000 uF capacitor. The positive is then connected to pin 1 of the voltage regulator (low dropout), pin 2 connected to ground. Pin 3 and ground are then connected in parallel with a 470uF cap, which is then connected to the USB port.

Here is a solar powered charger I made using components and guides from Sparkfun.com and Adafruit. It is a modified Mintyboost charger using a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery and a 7″x9″ solar panel.
