Here is a video showing how we used the LFP 180 Portable Solar Power Generator System to power a circular chop saw to create 5 PVC solar panel tilting stands for folding portable solar panels.
This is a modular portable solar power generator setup that can be sized to meet just about any off grid power requirement. The LiFePo4 batteries can also be used to store energy and then can be taken off grid to supply power silently which is perfect for film crews.

How do you kill AA batteries?
I have NiMH 2300 mAh AA rechargeable batteries that i need to kill.
(i’m doing a science project with solar power battery charger and i need dead batteries)
whats the fastest way to kill them? i’ve left two in a flashlight for a few hours and they’ve hardly lost anything.
thank you!
If the battery was fully charge when you started to discharge it, it would take 2.3 hours to discharge it with a 1 amp load. Apply a larger (more current) load. DO NOT short it because it could explode.
Solar power and solar power conversion to a battery?
Can you convert solar energy to electricity for a car battery? If so how, and what supplies do you need?
(I am trying to remake a solar powered trike like on the colony.)
(I am trying to remake a solar powered trike like on the colony.)
(stupid internet putting my additional details twice)
You need a deep cycle battery, as an auto battery is good for quick discharge for starting an engine, but can’t sustain a long deep continuous discharge with multiple recharging that you need for an electric vehicle. The 40 watt PV panel charges the 12 v battery through a charge controller. The MPPT type is the best type of controller. Many panels come with the charge controller and wiring. You need to get a fairly efficient solar panel, because the more efficient ones are physically smaller and lighter, something that will extend your range. Get a battery of sufficient size to power your motor for most of your range, because 40 watts of solar power will not be enough to power the vehicle, you need a motor of at least 200 watts. Get an efficient electric motor, and design the vehicle for minimum drag. A Chinese bicycle wheel/hub motor would be a good choice.

DIY – Home Solar Hybrid – Standalone – Grid Tie – Done!!
Well, I think I’ve finally finished my home solar project. After doing a lot of reading, I believe I have an otherwise decent and safe system. I tried to design it around the NEC’s Article 690 as much as “practical”. I’ve added additional components, and changed a few things around. It’s been an enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience. I read “free” books on design, operation & maintenance, and safety, along with referencing the National Electrical Code in relation to PV systems. After playing with my new Grid Tie inverter, I’m convinced that it’s a good addition to any system that produces 500+ Watts of power. My system is not the best and my way is not the only way to implement a home system, but I hope my ideas helps someone along the way. For those that wish to truly learn about Stand-Alone PV system design etc, the following are excellent free books I downloaded and used:
1.) Stand-Alone Photovoltaic Systems – (by Sandia National Labs)
2.) Maintenance And Operation of Stand-Alone Photovoltaic Systems (Sandia)
3.) Working Safely with Photovoltaic Systems (Sandia National Labs)
4.) Photovoltaic Power Systems And the 2005 NEC: Suggested Practices
Simply google the titles and download the pdf’s, and your good to go. Good Fortune, and have fun.

100 WATT SOLAR PANELS PART 1
My latest experiment with a much neater looking arrangement.
The battery only arrived at lunchtime and not fully charged yet.
At this moment my home is using 416 watts running 4 energy
saving light bulbs 1 tv and the refridgerator. This will go down
when everyone goes to bed, leaving plenty of charge before the
sun comes up again. I cant run a kettle or washing mashine yet
as these both take just over 2kw,but im working on it,I just need
to find a 3kw inverter at the right price, and maybe another panel
and battery…….
